The County of Hawaiʻi Affordable Housing Dashboard provides a user-friendly interface where residents can easily view details such as project location and income limits, as well as status updates for units in the affordable housing pipeline and thousands of existing rental units. The Neighborhood Place of Puna's Anchor Point Youth Center is a welcoming drop-in center located in Hilo that offers a safe and nurturing environment where youth and young adults (ages 14 to 24) who are homeless or facing housing instability can connect with resources tailored to their needs. Vibrant Hawaiʻi's Social Service Navigators are available to help you and your ʻohana get connected with social services like SNAP, emergency rental assistance, mental health resources, disability assistance, and other social service programs. In partnership with the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands (DHHL), the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement (CNHA) provides rental subsidies for eligible kūpuna (age 62 and older) on the DHHL Wait List. The County of Hawaiʻi Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) relaunched on May 1, 2024. ERAP is designed to Hawaiʻi Island resident households that experienced economic hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic and are struggling to pay their rent.
